Creating a New Recipe
Slowly but surely I am teaching myself to cook. The days of microwave meals are behind me (except occasionally after incredibly long days in the office!); however most of my experimentation to date has been in accordance with the somewhat safe method of following recipes.
Until yesterday that is.
The hour was 1730 and the stomach was rumbling; the cupboards were bare but the hunger was insatiable and wouldn’t wait for me to race around the aisles of the supermarket.
I ransacked my shelves, pulling out rice, tuna, an onion and the ingredients to make what I knew to be a delicious cheese sauce recipe. Throwing in a few herbs produced what turned out to be an enticing and delectable meal. For several hours I felt quite proud of myself, I’d created something new, something tempting, something, quite frankly, delicious.
